EVENT INFORMATION
Who?
The Cardel Homes Art-a-thon is open to all High School Students in Calgary and Region, Grades 10 - 12, public or private institutions.
Why?
- Win Money for School - $6000 in scholarships and more great prizes
- Your art judged by industry professionals
- Your art on display for a gallery style event
- Winning art on public display for a year
What?
- The Cardel Homes Art-A-Thon is an opportunity to express yourself and showcase your creative artistic talents. It may also bring some additional financial support to pursue your artistic learning. A total scholarship purse of $6,000 will be shared with the nine finalists.
- Flat (2D) artworks of a size not to exceed 36”w x 36”h x 2”d may be submitted. Art submissions must be framed or mounted for display purposes. Students full name must be visible somewhere on art piece
- Artists may use a variety of media to create their artwork including but not limited to oil, watercolour, charcoal, wood, metals, fabric. Photography is excluded from the Art-a-Thon
- Please include artist's statement with your submission.
- Maximum of 2 submissions per student.
Where?
The Art-a-thon exhibit will be displayed at Cardel Theatre on November 30th at 7pm at the Cadel Theatre - located at 180 Quarry Park Blvd SE.
How and When?
- Register online by Oct 30, 2011
- Drop off your completed entry details form, consent form and art piece by November 18, 2011.
- Only completed forms and labeled art pieces will be accepted.
- Submissions can be dropped off at the following locations;
