The third annual Cardel Ride of a Lifetime in support of Calgary youth takes place Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Race City. This Cardel Homes/Ultimate Motorsports event brings together exotic sports car enthusiasts and kids facing challenges for a day of motorsports and mentorship. This year Ferrari Maserati of Alberta is helping out with the ride, which will bring a whole new level to the experience for the kids.
Expect Ferraris, Maseratis, Porsches, Lamborghinis, and a lot of wide-eyed kids.
Ride of a Lifetime is an opportunity to reach out to teens in need of a break-and show them that their dreams may not be as far out of reach as they thought. In addition to introducing the kids to the high-octane world of motorsports, Ride of a Lifetime drivers will mentor their passengers in how to achieve their goals and dreams. (Like buying a fast car.)
24 drivers will donate their time and track fees on behalf of 30 kids selected from three agencies: Hull Family and Child Services, Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta, and the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre.
Participants will receive breakfast at 9:00AM, Ride of a Lifetime lapping from 9:30 - 12:00 and lunch at noon.
Last year's event was a huge success. This year's event promises the same tire-shredding thrills to a new batch of kids who are in for a Ride of a Lifetime.
