As a Production Drafting Technician, you will use your formal education, software expertise and 1-5 years of industry-related experience to support our Production team. You will be exposed to all areas of new residential construction and participate in all production activities related to taking a new home from sale to construction.
Responsibilities for this position include: producing plot plans, preparing home plans for customer files, creating floorplan and elevation exhibits, verifying and issuing purchase orders, managing and scheduling templates, researching new trades, providing detailed cost analyses, preparing material and labor take-offs, processing custom price requests, obtaining vendor pricings, administrative duties for tendering sub-trade contracts, drawing revisions, submitting applications and permits, and performing site inspections. Your daily responsibilities will also include disciplines outside of drafting such as critical estimating and purchasing activities.
While primarily working in an office environment, our team is also hands-on and active in the home construction phase. Cross-referencing purchase orders with onsite workmanship, providing quality control, enforcing scopes of work and actively participating in continuous improvements are also expected.
The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of the residential construction processes, building materials, codes and technologies; possess excellent mathematic, time management and organizational skills; is not afraid to take initiative; has strong attention to detail and an impressive aptitude with industry standard CAD applications. Work proficiency with construction and estimating software is an asset.

As a Junior Estimator, you will use your technical certificate and 0-5 years of industry-related experience to support our Production team. Your primary responsibility will be to verify and issue purchase orders as well as conduct variance analysis.
You will also be responsible for building base models and options within the database. Additional requirements may include preparation of material and labor take-offs, custom price requests, vendor pricing and assisting where required with paperwork, administration for tendering sub-trade contracts and other production related functions such as drawing revisions, application submissions and site inspections.
You must have solid knowledge of residential construction processes, building materials, codes and technologies plus solid communication skills, initiative, attention to detail, time management skills, and organizational abilities. Working proficiency with construction/estimating software is an asset.
