Estimator

As an Estimator, you will use your diploma in Architectural Technologies, or equivalent, and your industry-related experience to support our Estimating team. You will be responsible for building base models and options within the database and other functions which may include preparation of material and labour take-offs, purchase order issuance, custom price requests, variance analysis, vendor pricing, assisting with paperwork and administration for tendering sub-trade contracts and other production related functions.

You must have solid knowledge of residential construction processes, building materials, codes and technologies plus excellent communication skills, initiative, attention to detail, time management and organizational abilities. Working proficiency with construction/estimating software such as Sales Simplicity, Timberline and Builder MT is also preferred. BCIN qualifications will be an asset.

Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide comprehensive, confidential and professional level office management, executive administrative assistance, and project coordination support to the senior management team. You will act as a customer, community and employee liaison and be responsible for schedule management, correspondence, records management, information and data analysis, writing executive summaries, office procurement and providing personal assistance to the Regional President.

You will bring to this position 5+ years of administrative experience supporting senior level executives and a post-secondary education in business/office administration. Previous experience within the construction or land development industries is considered an asset. You will also have an exemplary level of tact, professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.

Proficiency in all aspects of computer technology with an emphasis on MS Office, with an aptitude to learn additional software and other relevant applications and technical/office equipment at an advanced level is required. Previous experience with Sales Simplicity, Builder MT, Punchlist and SAGE Accounting & Estimating is an asset.

Work days and hours for this part-time position may be negotiated to reach a mutually suitable work arrangement.

Architectural Technologist

As an Architectural Technologist you will use your knowledge, skills and expertise to support our drafting team in the preparation of site and grading plans, interaction with clients related to custom design and detailing, and the customization of standard building plans to suit the client’s selections of options and upgrades.

This is the perfect position for a mid to senior level tech with a minimum of 5 years of residential experience and BCIN qualifications. You will have the ability to apply consistent standards and practices on dozens of concurrently maintained plans, the skills to interact effectively with municipal staff to expedite permit applications, and a solid understanding of Ontario codes, standards and construction practices. Proficiency with both Windows and Mac operating systems will be an asset.
