As a Land Development Engineer/Technologist you will assist in the day-to-day operations required to complete a portfolio of land development projects ranging from master planned communities to redevelopment projects.
Your day could look like:
- Assisting with projects from development of preliminary concepts through to design and construction
- Participating in the execution of project plans including controlling the scope, budget and scheduling of projects.
- Providing onsite oversight to hold contractors accountable, on schedule and within budget.
Key deliverables are accurate estimates, schedule & budget management, status reporting and support for other planning activities.
The role will liaise between various groups including Cardel’s land division, its consulting and contracting teams, other internal Cardel divisions and business units (including the homebuilding division, marketing department, and finance department), and other stakeholders including community members and the City of Ottawa and surrounding municipalities.
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or CET credentials with 3+ years land site servicing work experience. You will bring to this role an understanding of the land development process, familiarity with the City of Ottawa or other municipalities planning related policies, comprehension of plans and legal agreements, excellent organization and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. Previous knowledge or experience with AutoCAD software is considered an asset.
You must have a valid G license and the use of a vehicle when required. Work is performed in both an office and outdoor work environment. Hours may include evenings and weekends.
