Handyman

Cardel Homes is looking for a Handyman with a professional demeanor, a willingness to work in a team environment, and a desire to provide exceptional customer service to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing pre-possession finishing work, post-possession service work, ensuring site safety and cleanliness as well as other duties assigned by the Site Supervisor. You will be required to work diplomatically to solve problems in the building and be cost-conscious and honest when working with the construction team, vendors and contractors. You will bring 5-6 years of rough and finish carpentry experience as well as working knowledge of mechanical and technical systems.

This is a physically demanding position which will require you to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. You must provide your own tools and a reliable mode of transportation (i.e. truck or van). Short-listed candidates may be required to provide a recent driver’s abstract and criminal record check.

As a Labourer, you will be energetic and self-motivated with the responsibility of ensuring site safety, providing new residential site cleans and completing minor carpentry tasks. To be successful in this position, you will be safety-oriented, possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and maintain a professional demeanor. Previous experience with residential construction sites is an asset. This is a physically demanding position which will require you to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Drafting/Architectural Technologist

We are looking for an Architectural Technologist to join our drafting team. Your responsibilities will include preparing site and grading plans, interacting with clients related to custom design and detailing, and customizing standard building plans to suit the clients’ selections of options and upgrades.

This is the perfect position for a mid-to-senior level tech with a minimum of five years of residential experience and BCIN qualifications. The successful candidate will apply consistent standards and practices to dozens of concurrently maintained plans, interact effectively with municipal staff to expedite permit applications, and possesses a solid understanding of Ontario codes, standards and construction practices. Proficiency with both Windows and Mac operating systems is an asset.
